No, I don't know about other groups of friends at my school but my group is just gonna hang out with each other only.

I guess you can interpret the occasion differently but I see it as just a celebration of the end of compulsory schooling :) We would have just finished SC, final subject selection and all that and we'd just be craving for some FUN before Y11!!!

I'm wondering;

How much does it cost at your school to attend the formal?
I mean just the pure cost of attending, minus your dress or whatever else.

At my school, it's estimated to be around $90 per person.....

My Year 10 formal 2 years ago (gosh, I feel so old!) was about $40 per ticket and we weren't allowed to have anyone outside of our school come with us. Only two people who were a couple anyway went together out of 100 in our year, we all just went as a group of friends.

I wore a simple black dress I already had, which cost $10 when I got it.

You don't need to spend big for any formal, even Year 12. I've spent less than $500 for my Year 12 formal and have everything I need now.

Have fun! =]

My school was gonna have one, but we weren't allowed to bring anyone from other schools only dates from out own school. Seeing as my schools an all boy school, the SRC decided to scrap the formal. Kinda retarded.

Thats the same as my 'situation.' it is in our school hall. The budget we have been given by the school to spend on the formal is soo shit.

Don't be, my year 10 formal was a cruise and it was soooo boring! All the people on pills were jumping out of their skin from the confined space, which was pretty funny.

Ours is 60 bucks at a local RSL club. Nothing too fancy, especially since it's not organised by our school- just a group of students.

yeahh i had mine about a month ago, august 9th

security- OMG
there was even someone sitting in the toilets making sure nothing happened

i think almost everyone took someone but in the end most of us just hung out with our friends.. our school is all girls and most of the guys knew each other anyway

wasnt that good
and cost $110
and we had to pay for the guy we took

oh well
there is yr 12..

so
i guess take someone only if you know them and are comfortable with them
but even if you dont, just go and enjoy yourself and have fun! :)

Haha, that's quite depressing Danny Egg.
With our school, its student-organised so I guess we weren't expecting much of it and the result - nothing special. It's just a get together at a local function centre and everyone is just going to look pretty. Tickets are $25 a head and it's in early December.
As a girls school, we're allowed to bring dates :D
Hm, what to wear.
