There seems to be a large amount of posters who think

a) all illegals drugs are extremely harmful and should be illegal even though this impinges on our freedom etc

b) the government cannot force us to eat healthy foods via the banning of unhealthy (therefore harmful) and addictive foods because this would impinge on our freedom

Lol you guys

how can you justify these views

illegal drugs are likely to negatively effect people around you, ie family members and bystanders.

where being fat doesn't effect other people that much (relative to other drugs)

Being fat is a negative influence because it often leads to depression and self-esteem issues and also increased healthcare costs. You say "ciggies and booze is okay because its regulated." so why don't we regulate MDMA and marajuana?

we don't regulate them. We ban them flat out and force people to get them from drug dealers.

I don't even like smoking marajuana but can see that it should be regulated similar to tobacco and alcohol. Like tobacco in that it has warning against smoking etc., like alcohol in that you shouldnt drive while under the influence.

the only time government needs to protect people is when their liberty is under threat

hence, drugs should be legal, driving whilst under their influence should not

Is that even true? How does smoking a few joints affect your family members in comparison to the increased risk of cardiovascular disease, etc. associated with obesity?
