Chat which course is better (or if you know another one not here, please share) ~ I'm aiming for post grad med
My top 2:
1. UNSW: Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Medicine / Master of Pharmacy
2. USYD: B/Psych Honours

Then the rest in no order:
UNSW B/Psych Honours
USYD B/Psych
UNSW B/Psyc science
USYD Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Medical Science)
Maq Law + Med sci

btw I don't wanna do something risky like med sci alone or b/science since it has limited career prospects. Also I got a 90+ atar and my selection rank is like 98 or 99 so im open to anything.
ps. I do enjoy psych and english (and science)

firstly congrats on the atar 😸

which of the 2 are you more interested in?
also consider the amount of time you'll be spending in uni, and if that's important to you

I've heard it takes a while to become a clinical psychologist and that the master's program is very competitive to get into at USYD. but if psych is your thing then im sure you'd get the marks needed for master's, if not at usyd then another uni, which btw isn't worth thinking about just yet anyway. but still a consideration

pharmacy is also a stable career path, the master's comes with the bachelor's which seems cool like you wouldn't need to apply for master's separately later on I think. and again is this a path you're more interested in? it's a lot of biochem

there's a much stronger writing/english/critical thinking component in psych. my psych friends always seem to be writing essays or reading papers

maybe just look up career prospects and job market for both, look up the handbooks for both degrees to see what the units and content will be like, you might get your answer that way

I've decided to go for B/Science & B/Advanced Studies (Medical Science) at USYD (Its a double degree) or B/psychology at USYD (with honours or without doesn't matter). I'll most likely get both of them so I haven't 100% decided yet. Either way, I plan on taking the UCAT and getting into undergrad med rather than opting for post-grad through GAMSAT which is significantly harder.
IDK about physio but I know that Pharmacy will be beneficial in the idea that once you get into med, you will have some basic knowledge from studying it undergrad, but its quite a heavy degree and to maintain a high GPA (6-7) will be quite difficult.

I’m the same deciding between paramed and pharmaceutical science. Any insight into which will be easier to maintain grades.

I'm probably not the most qualified to answer but I'll try my best. I'm going to assume your looking at pharmaceutical science at UNSW since it's also hat I have my eyes on. It's offered as a double degree with a Master of Pharmacy (at UNSW) and for that reason, I would guess that to maintain a high GPA would be significantly harder. I also didn't do chemistry in my hsc this year so that may also affect some things unless I take a bridging course.
As for paramed, im not 100% sure but from what I gather, it's more mentally exhausting and the course itself is quite practical/hands on whereas pharma science would be more lab based? Here's some reddit posts I found about studying paramed (I did have an interest in studying it as a pathway)

My educated guess would be that pharma science is heavier thus harder to maintain high grades just by doing some reading and looking at the atar cutoffs, but take this opinion with a grain of salt.

Hope this somewhat helps :)

Thank you. I was actually looking at uts for Pharma but still very helpful. I feel like I will find the content of it interesting but do still worry about the difficulty.
