Yes... wouldnt that be somewhat unethical- well it would be comprimising your beliefs just to get more votes.

    SRC Elections 2005

How many people do you think would vote if voting in federal elections wasn't mandatory? Maybe not 10% but considerably lower than 100% and I wouldn't say that it is because the people don't care about the country that they live in and that we should get rid of government simply because people...

2 whole years... what to do

Hah thats funny sugar plum, when I was in almost the exact same position as you- I found out he liked one of my best friends as well, but then it didnt turn out to be anything serious. But as this happened the week of stuvac I was quite devastated- but then again it caused me to study harder coz...

2 whole years... what to do

I was in your position last year, boy came at the beginning of yr 11- I liked him from then all the way through to the end of yr 12. We were somewhat friendly with each other, internet buddies so to speak... I got to the last day of school where we took photos with each other and he wrote a...

Is that a knee-jerk reaction for you? To assume that anytime someone insults you its about race?

    SRC Elections 2005

Ah I thought you were talking about the flyers that claimed if we didnt vote for you we are racist as was mentioned upthread.

    SRC Elections 2005

At first I was so mad about that flyer, I just thought it was the most stupid thing I had ever heard. Now it just seems kinda funny. For me, an observer, this whole election thing has been a kind of soap opera. I'm actually finding myself really interested in the outcomes when at first I was...

    SRC Elections 2005

Hah. I get all passionate and self-righteous about politics when I've had a few drinks, I hate to think what the Keep Lefters would be like... or everyone involved in student politics for that matter.

    SRC Elections 2005

This might sound like a stupid question, but who counts the votes? And is it like federal/state elections where everyone sits around on baited breath waiting to find out who won?

    SRC Elections 2005

Keep Left are a bunch of loonies. Violence is never an acceptable reaction. I'm actually kind of shocked, its one thing to hear of personal attacks, politics after all is a dirty business but violence is just taking it waaaay too far.

    SRC Elections 2005

Apart from the Keep Left dude, have any of the other candidates made personal attacks this year? I havent heard any but admittedly I'm not involved and havent been going to lectures of late...

I think Isobelle is rather plain looking, Rose is prettier... I saw you, Phanatical, today... strumming your violin outside Carslaw... at least I think it was you... I almost got burned by a Choice representative's cigarette as they thrust a pamphlet towards me, lucky I turned my head just...

2004 Graduate Statistics (Starting Salaries) Out!

Hmm... nor have I... Eh as an Arts student I am very familiar with the amusing generalisations about my degree.... but I really don't care coz some are very true (in regard to me anyway). I found the starting salary for Arts interesting though, also rather interesting how high it was for...

    SRC Elections 2005

Just thought I'd point out in regards to "liberal" and "Liberal", I wasn't trying to offend anyone or anything-- just considering that some people don't realise there is a difference, I felt the need to point it out. I'm not implying that people here don't know the difference just that following...

Michael Moore's Open Letter To George Bush

If I admit that the Americans handled the response to Hurricane Katrina badly and worse than other Asian countries have in the past, is that what you want? Coz its true. Everybody knows it. If that is your only point, you are stating the obvious. Acknowledging this does not, however, prove in...
