    Deriving Question Help

    T' = 1/2(x^2+9)^-1/2 x 2x over 4 - 1 over 5 You missed the x2x when u differentiated. SImplifying: T' = x over 4root(x^2+9) - 1 over 5 Let T'=0 Cross multiplying T'=0 = 5x - 4root(x^2+9) 5x = 4root(x^2+9) 25x^2 = 16(x^2+9) 9x^2 = 144 x^2 = 16 x = (+-)4 Obviously x isn't going to be -4 so x= 4...

    HSC Tips - Polynomials

    Find the roots of x^2 + x = 4 is the same as Find the zeroes of x^2 + x - 4 Find the zeros of x^2 + x is the same as Find the roots of x^2 + x = 0 I'm pretty sure this is the difference, although could be more to it.

    Displacement reactions.

    Displacement reactions involve the loss and gain of electrons. I would assume that the less electronegative elements would give there electrons to the more electronegative elements. However the activity series given in CSU HSC online and the conquering chemistry lists Lithium as more reactive...

    How much work should have be done during these holidays.

    Entire course. You should start doing trials during these holidays. Seriously though, writing notes for everything covered in term 1 seems pretty good.

    Ethnicity of those in ANU

    I would think race distribution would be a major part of the criteria for university selection. Would you study at an university in india? They all speak english but you probably don't have the same cultural aspects as them/not attracted to them ? Thus resulting in a very lacking social life.

    Ethanol vs Bioethanol

    1. Production method of ethanol (industrial) Hydration of ethene. Ethene + H2O ---> Ethanol 2. Production method of bioethanol. Fermentation of sugars from plants such as sugar cane etc. One is renewable, the other isn't.

    Addition polymerisation.

    Okay so we all know that in the formation of LDPE the initiator, usually an organise peroxide, becomes part of the end polymer. For the ziegler-natta process: 1. Does it become part of the end polymer? 2. How does termination occur for the ziegler-natta process? 3. How exactly does the process...
