    relativity of simultaneity

I have never seen a question asked about quant, not been asked a question about it! But, I will give it a go. Imagine you are on a train of length '2x' with a light beam source directly in the middle, so the distance to either end of the carriage is 'x' and at either end of the carriage there...

    How to summarize physics?

^^ If you understand the content, you will be able to link different concepts and the progression of your 4-8 mark questions will be more logical, which is usually essential to score full marks.

    Significant Figures?

Sig Figs do not matter at all in Physics, but matter in Chemistry.

How hard you have to work for HD's?

Depends on the subject and your ability. I did not study for an undergraduate accounting subject (which I picked as an elective -- Accounting for Business) and got 97 -- lost those marks as I didn't turn up to some tutorials. It helped that the lecturer was awesome (Jon Tyler) I studied my ass...

some one who got a 97.30 ATAR without studying?

Yeah, it happens. Imagine what she could've achieved if she had been consistent! :) The smartest student I have ever taught only got an ATAR of 95.2 I think, but he never studied. He was smarter than the students I taught this year who got 99+ ATAR's and smarter than me when I was in Year 12...

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

According to one of my tutor students, 2012 HAHS is pretty beast. They are expecting some pretty awesome results.

    Nuclear enginner / physist maybe

Sydney did do a Masters of Applied Nuclear Science, But I think it is being discontinued. You may have to goto ANU, they havea good Nuclear Science program there. But yeah, In Australia, very hard to get a job.

    Should I pick Science?

I ended up doing nanotechnology. Basically, I thought to myself "Do I want to be in front of a computer 8 hrs/day for the rest of my life.. NOT PLAYING GAMES?!?!" Then i just thought "Well, what interests me?" Ive always enjoyed physics, chem and maths, so I went into a discipline that...

99.80 ATAR: ENG ADV, BIO, ECO, MATHS EXT 1 and 2 TUTORING. 1st LESSON FREE

Great results! :) Did you mess up the examination itself a little? My tutor student from Girra got 95 in Ext2 and 97Ext1 iirc. You still beat him in ATAR as he only got 89 for English :) Congrats on ur great ATAR

    Should I pick Science?

Yes, do subjects you WANT to do. I learnt that the hard way with my first university course :\ (Software engineering)

    Thoughts on Private Tutors???

I think there should also be options for 'experience' and 'previous results' If I was a HSC student, i'd be ensuring that the tutor had relevant experience and strong prior results. Or asking around about their reputation.

Physics tutoring -- NEW CLASS STARTING JANUARY!!

Thx mate :) Congrats on your success!! :)

How much should a private tutor charge?

$40/hr is too expensive for a recent graduate. Regardless of 99+ATAR's, 90+'s in subjects, High UMAT, whatever. That tells you that they know how to learn for themselves, not necessarily how to teach. With the HSC changing a little more each year (less rote learning -- see 3u paper :) ), it is...

Does SC mean anything?! Compare your SC and HSC here.

Im currently doing data analysis on any possible correlation between SC Science/Maths results and Physics results. I tell you now, according to the students at my school, students who are naturally quite bright and do well in SC Science and Maths (85+) but put no work in for HSC Physics, can...

Physics tutoring -- NEW CLASS STARTING JANUARY!!

Updated with more results. 3 students from a school local to me are probably going to fill up the new class. They are trialling early January.

    Drop to Senior Science?

Sendoh - In Year 12 you are allowed to. I.e., if you do phys and chem, you can drop one of them and take up senior science However, in preliminary you cannot do senior science + other sciences
