    Problem help

You could do it using HSC Physics. Just by doing the following: delta_Y=Uy*t + 1/2ayt^2 From the question we are told that: delta_Y = -10Uy (the stone 'falls' the displacement of the balloon, hence is negative) Therefore: -10Uy = Uy*t + 1/2ayt^2 The question says t = 5 -10Uy = 5Uy -...

    WORK (MOVING ABOUT)

I'm not going to do it for you, but work is simply change in energy. 4) Use GPE = mgh and determine the change in energy from when h=0 to h=5.5 5) Determine the change in Kinetic Energy of the car. That's it.

    GPE explained... a bit.

I always get heaps of questions about GPE, both in class and on the forums. I got aNOTHER question yesterday, so I thought I would share my response with you guys, hopefully it will help a couple of you! The asker was concerned with 3 things, which I have addressed -- please excuse spelling...

Physics tutoring -- Need students aiming for band 6!!

LoL. People asking me about my ATAR/UAI when I have completed 4 university degrees!! Personally, I consider awesome as 95+ But CAPITAL AWESOME IS 99+ :)

    Multiple Choice

Nice to see that Q14 was A, not C :) I'm just lucky I got all the MC correct, haha.

    Preparing for Physics half yearly

Yep. 80% of the physics examination can basically be done from memory. The final 20% or so is really the only 'application' aspect of physics. Quite sad actually. I was teaching motion graphs to my Year 11's today and a couple of them were saying 'can't we just use calculus?' -- needless to...

    Calculating Rocket Thrust

Thurst is a force, the unit of force is Newton (kgms^-2) -- looking at the units -- multiply the 2 numbers, that's about the only relevant explanation I could propose about getting such a question. You don't learn about how to calculate thrust in HSC Physics

    physics pp

I think I have 07 and 08 papers, not sure if I have solutions though. Do you still want them?

    Preparing for Physics half yearly

SIF! HSC course is pretty interesting imho. Perhaps not as interesting as university physics, but interesting nonetheless :) Even M&G is growing on me... It all depends on what is effective for your learning. Using others notes would never, ever work for me. I have to make my own notes and...

    Online Lectures

BRING BACK THE FLUX! I'm currently working on something in this area -- don't know if it will be ready anytime soon though :(

    Private Tutor Vs Tutoring College

tbh, for those subjects I would recommend small group tuition. No more than 8 students. Allows you to still get personal attention and questions answered as well as perhaps alternate ways of solving problems etc..

STATE RANKING CHEM (3rd) AND BIO (12th) and MODERN NOTES

Recieved his notes/lesson plans yesterday. 1 word. AWESOME! May as well just throw away the other sets of state ranking notes I have, I find Kamal's notes to be much more thorough, but they do not contain an abundance of irrelevant information. It is always good to know more useful...

    Black Body Stuff

Don't know what was written before it, but it is probably referring to an equilibrium between the radiation in the cavity and the enclosure. By definition, BBR refers to radiation which is in thermal equilibrium with the enclosure.

    Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation

    - Definition or equation or Newtons law of Universal Gravitation - Diagram of 'Newton's Cannon' - Statement saying that gravitational attraction provides a centripetal force which ensures satellites stay in orbit - By equating NLUG and Centripetal force, you can arrive at equation for orbital...
