Yeah that's pretty much it. And haha I'm the exact same- I can NEVER be bothered checking over my answers in maths papers lol so I always drop so many sillies...

Yeah brah- I'll email them now. Lol I did that paper like an hour ago and dropped so many marks on stupid errors (like putting stuff into calc wrong- hopefully I would have picked that up in a test....)

(Finalised) Official BOS Mathematics Trial Examinations.

Nah you'll be fine. Though the attendance list is quite intimidating lol- there will be a lot of mid to high 90's in 3 and 4U from this list. Actually what would be interesting is when we all get our maths marks back is upload them and we'll see how closely they correlate with this paper.

If they ask ''two or more related texts''...

Yes. Pretty sure its not allowed. If it is allowed, you would defs get owned for it. That goes for using Ext. 1 texts and standard texts in advanced as well

If they ask ''two or more related texts''...

They can't search it up. Markers can't look up anything of that sort in any examination marking I'm pretty sure. They wouldn't have heard of most related texts- you'd get away with it easy. The point is though- will your analysis be convincing and detailed?

(Finalised) Official BOS Mathematics Trial Examinations.

Re: The p00n thread Ok cool. How long do you reckon it'll take to get the results (not rushing you lol- take your time)

(Finalised) Official BOS Mathematics Trial Examinations.

Re: The p00n thread Two quick questions: 1. Is there free internet at Parra library? 2. Are you guys planning on staying back for lunch and stuff after the test?

Why should you try in HSC ...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Yes your assessment mark is determined by your rank etc. but you still keep your OWN exam mark. That is 50% of the HSC mark- whatever you get in the HSC, will stay as your exam mark and count for 50%, regardless of your rank.

    English related text?

They can specify up to two texts. They have never specified two in Mod C so that probably won't happen. Two related was last specified in AOS in 08 from memory but that was journeys not belonging. I think you should defs prepare two for AOS and it wouldn't hurt to have at least a general idea of...

Where do you collect your data/economic commentary from?

Re: The p00n thread Protip: Go to your local library and ask them if they can give you all of their newspapers before they throw them out. I don't collect them any more because it takes too long but until around July, I'd go to the library every month and just get the previous months Herald...

    2011 HSC Q8(b) Probability

Yeah same, I SO hope we just get a standard one early on in the paper rather than a Q16. Basically we need to choose one ball which won't appear and another ball that will appear twice. These balls can be chosen in 7x6 different ways

    2011 HSC Q8(b) Probability

Ok this is how I would do this question. Consider 7 spaces as follows: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ and we have 7 balls numbered 1 through 7. We need to make sure that ONE of these numbers does not appear in any of our seven spaces so this obviously implies that we have to use ONE number twice and twice...

Terrible results so far (mostly) - what could this mean for my ATAR

There is no way near enough information to tell. What would help is: 1. What is your school rank? 2. What are your ranks (and cohort sizes) in each subject But yes, getting very poor trial results will have a highly negative impact on your ATAR- sorry :(

WHO HAS the BEST phys/chem notes?

I haven't used all of them but I like using Kamal Singh for chem and David Pham for phys as well as this guy who finished Y12 last year from my school for both phys and chem (won't post his name...). So that's two sets of notes for each + Student's Guide for both and you'll be set

    query

Nope. ATAR is recalculated off raw marks. The BOS gives UAC all of the raw marks and then UAC scales and forms your ATAR based off those. Its essentially the same thing as going off HSC marks but that's why you can get two different ATAR's with the same HSC marks because say a 95 MX1 HSC mark...

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

YES. I love demolishing every single person who acts like they are the best and take so much pleasure in doing so (I'm a terrible person...). Honestly, I so hope you smash her. What I'm trying to say though is that don't be depressed if you don't because honestly, she goes to Ruse and she must...

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

This so much. Honestly, with school and everything else in life, there is always someone out there who is better than you. Someone who understands everything more intuitively or someone who is faster or someone who is more eloquent. If you spend ages thinking about beating everyone else, in the...

    The Umat Results 2012.

Definitely not for any uni that looks at UMAT. You could do like Usyd or something though which just looks at ATAR (.95 ATAR though...). Sorry :(
