iraq war controversy in its third year. please respond.

i'd not call them the same, but my point is more that if it took years with germany and japan, and there were SIGNIFICANT advantages there, Iraq is going to be even harder

Internet porn - Opt in or opt out?

well, a search of the top 100 names for girls, when looking at just the first page of results (20 images) with the moderate safesearch on led to only 34 pictures, or 1.7% of the returned images, so i don't think its that much an issue

there's been division, yeah, but that doesn't necessarily equate to violence. though that does make the whole thing much more difficult to hope to succeed with.

The Usage Of The Word- "BLOODY" In Tourism Ads.

that is one heck of a messed up advocacy group, both because NO american kid is going to understand that bloody can be considered profane, and because they don't have any trouble with the actual BLOOD on american tv in excessive amounts. and i can't believe it was aired during lost....and i...

iraq war controversy in its third year. please respond.

Just a thought, but keep in mind that post world war II, Japan was occupied by the U.S. officially until 1952 (7 years) and Germany wasn't soverign until the mid-50s either, i believe. Building a country doesn't happen easily, but it IS happening in Iraq. This isn't basic sectarian violence...

iraq war controversy in its third year. please respond.

even though the war continuing is making the republican party's job harder, and there has been no benefit to the u.s. as far as oil, given that less oil is being pumped now and gas prices have been on the rise

    lets open our minds people

yeah, go in europe and see if the germans, french, and brits all consider themselves the same. that was part of my point, was that while some groups are more populous, being a majority white doesn't mean its a majority of the same ethnic group. nwatts, i think you did ignore two things that...

iraq war controversy in its third year. please respond.

I think removing Saddam and trying to put in a democratic gov't in that region has a lot of positive ramifications for Iraq and the world. Bush has done a very poor job at conveying what the benefits would be though, imo.

actually, one of the big reasons why heliocentric views didn't take hold was because they figured taht if the earth was orbiting the sun, there would be a parallax in the stars. so they were off a bit on how close the stars were.....i think about a factor of 2 or 3 would've meant that there...

    lets open our minds people

politik, i think you hit on an element thats unique to only a few countries. Most nationalities have specific ethnic implications. French, Japanese, Nigerian, Saudi.... all of those have specific ethnic groups associated with it. While you could argue that there are small differences within, its...

well, i virtually never use a calculator in day to day stuff, and hardly do so for my classes, but the amount of mental math i do is a lot....aside from stuff relating to shopping or purchasing (estimating sums, taxes, tips, or figuring out better prices per unit depending on what sort of...

much as i see why people are often for the dumbing down of society, the number of times i've seen people get the WRONG answers on calculators for simple problems is proof that the idea of relying on calculators is a mistake.

i'll say that a parent does have the right to decide for the kid, because they own the computter and they pay for the internet. i mean, a kid doesn't have rights to do whatever they want, but at the same time, i agree this isn't the place of gov't, its the place of parents. i mean, you don't...

HotShot sounds exactly like all the kids I tutor in math and science that argue that all of it is completely pointless to learn.... even though a lot of this is stuff that is day to day usage, things like fractions, decimals, percents, and simple algebra.

On the education thing....religion has often times tried to keep the masses uneducated for their benefit....biggest example was catholic church, which refused to let the bible be printed in a language that most people could read.

sam04u, the difference is with science, thigns are based off many people making observations that can be retried or retested. however, i can't exactly ask allah to confirm any given passage he said to muhammad. or well, technically, i suppose i should say...gabriel, i think. point is, religion...
