Does anyone know if overtime is automatically paid if you work without getting your full 10 hour break between shifts? Not that I really need or want the money, but I just realised I didn't get the break and wanted to know if it will be automatically paid even if I don't say anything about it

The award is fairly vague on the matter "In the case of misconduct justifying instant dismissal an employee may be instantly dismissed." (5.10.1) and "The absence of an employee from work for a continuous period exceeding 3 working days, without just cause and without the consent of the Company...

    Rules for Customers

I was in a surf store and this lady asked to exchange a pair of shoes and the assistant asked if she had the receipt and the lady answered "yeh, it's on the kitchen table, can I still exchange them?" *facepalm* and this store is known for its strict refund and exchange policy

Re: Woolworths FAQ- how to get a job Does that mean what i think it means? Do you just have to look at the floor? I'd be freaked out if I were shopping and all the employees just looked at the floor and went back to work. EDIT: I love how all the managers pull out all the stops re: policy...

I just found out that you can type Gift Card numbers in manually, I thought it was just for Credit Cards. That's going to come in handy after Christmas when everybody starts using their gift cards and they don't scan properly. Plus, I found a handy button in the 'Operator' menu: 'Reset...

I don't think so, I can't find anything in our award that says that. (I've uploaded the Coles award here) It's interesting the different rules for smokes across states/stores. at my coles, it's only >18s and only from the registers connected to the service desk

Yeah, you can get EDR in Big W but not at Woolworths/BWS. I think FSC is a better deal anyway. And regarding Christmas carols, I swear someone at Coles loves this dodgy cover of All I want for christmas is you

I know, when you only get $320 in your notes you have to make it last a long time, especially when they leave you no coins from the night before. Some bitch was like "Can't you just get a negative clearance?" which of course I can so I had no other excuse. We're not an ATM, Cash Out is offered...

I hate Monday morning shifts. We only get 3 x $50 notes in our floats and of course everyone wants cash out. Well too bad.

Ha, one of the supervisors did the funniest thing the other day. She had finished counting my register and instead of pressing the 'OK' button hit Cancel and the whole thing was cancelled and she had to start again. Lucky there were no customers waiting though.

It would be great for supervisors every time an operator needs their numbers to do something simple. Just walk past scan and go. Kinda like how they have it at McDonald's with the Managers' swipe cards.

HSC Plus only for HSC students

Hi, This is going to sound like a really dumb question so feel free to laugh at me, but I've been reading up on the HSC Plus scheme for UNSW entry and I just wanted to know if it's only for NSW students (who do the HSC) It's just that on the page it only mentions "complete an Australian Senior...

And Casual employees are entitled to cancel shifts (unpaid, of course) for compassionate leave as well.

I reckon they must have been mostly Mediums. I'm lucky, I'm your average size in most clothes (medium, size 9 shoes, 32" waist) but it would've been funny to see our 2IC in anything smaller than an XL.
