    are they serious?

I didn't turn up to my 2U HSC exam in Year 10 - the Board doesn't care. You still get a page made for you on Students Online - just says 'Non-Attempted' or something.

    slightly strange question

It depends on the school. Some schools have presiding officers which offer a photograph of your paper for a small fee.

    Vertical integration(business)

Vertical integration is the process of joining together of businesses that are involved in different but related activities or processes which assist the business' original prime function. E.g. a fruit store can purchase a truck company to assist in distribution.

will the Business Studies exam ever ask...?

It's been asked in trials before (I think I saw it in the QATS and ARC trials), but I haven't seen it ever in the HSC or the more prominent trials (i.e. CSSA, Independent). So it's possible, but highly unlikely.

    some random questions

    1. Bank bills are short term bills of exchange where large amounts of money are given immediately and the borrower promises to repay the sum of money with an agreed additional interest at a set date. It's a bank bill because the bank acts as a third party in guaranteeing the payment. 2...

I'm not too sure about the state rank, but thanks anyway. Best of luck for the 20th. =)

    Swap contracts???

No problems, sorry I didn't fully answer your question. Haha thanks. I got 95 in my trials - but I lost 4 marks because I ran out of time for the report and 1 on MC.

    2005 HSC Question 19.

Yep, I know that, but I wouldn't have written something that brief in an exam. I was just giving an overview of how the OP would approach the question.

    2005 HSC Question 19.

The above statement made by Lovell is true. This is because the path of the spacecraft will be dependent on the gravitational forces and theories of gravitational forces were formed by Isaac Newton. (i.e. F = GMM/d^2) Also the path of the rockets will abide by Newton's laws - i.e. the rocket...

    Swap contracts???

A swap contract is a contract between two parties that binds each party to pay periodic payments (such as payments on a bond), and receive periodic payments (such as payments on a bond). To keep it simple it's an agreement between companies to swap bond payments. Also it's not on the syllabus. :)

    case study query

The rubric states that you can use more than one, so if your case study doesn't sufficiently cover a topic, its advised to use another one, rather than providing a superficial answer or making things up.

State Rank - based on past trends.

96 actually seems quite attainable - I think if you got ~ 96, you'd probably be 15-20th out of the state.

+1 He probably knows that we call him Truong anyway, I think he only expects us to address him as sir, which is understandable, because it demonstrates respect. Pff Tipps

State Rank - based on past trends.

Ah cool thanks guys. Yeah I think 98 would have to be the raw mark, because I don't think they'd moderate business studies much (or at all).

    Related texts, two, three??

To be honest, if they ask for two texts, that's because they're expecting a deeper level of detail and by discussing 3 texts, most likely you'll lack depth. Either that or write really big with heaps of spacing and you'll reach the 6+ pages you should be aiming for.

State Rank - based on past trends.

Hey Guys, I was wondering, based on past trends, would anyone know what marks one would need to attain in order to achieve a state ranking in business studies (I think it's the Top 20 that gets listed in a 2-unit subject). Just curious.

    repeated questions in the HSC

Technically Belonging isn't a module, it's the Area of Study. Also belonging and journeys are kind of similar if you think about it. But what Jellybelly was referring to was Paper 2 and all the modules have remained the same (i.e. Comparative Study of Text, Critical Study of Text...
