Standard is out of 105 because Paper on is 45 and paper 2 is 60.

I got an acknowledgement of my request yesterday. They said they will reply with their determination soon.

That's my understanding, but I need to check whether that particular number has actually been reweighted. They sent me heaps of explanatory notes and rather cryptic database results which I still need to work through.

You'll definitely hear back from them within the next 3 weeks then.

Ohk. Makes sense :)

Excellent. If I don't get a reply, what then?

Well, firstly, you'll almost definitely get a reply in time - according to the Board's published statistics in their annual reports they have been very good at making a decision within 21 days. But if you don't, I'd advise you to first give them an extra week if they're running a bit late, and then go straight to the Ombudsman.

How do I apply for my raw marks? I was on holiday for 2 weeks, so what did I miss?

did you get individual marks and exam scripts?

this data makes the hsc seem a lot easier. so, my thought process for mx1 in next years hsc will be 57/84, 57/84, 57/84.

The MX1 and Legal studies cut offs can easily be estimated from these numbers. Did you get the full package sort of thing that Parsonage got? I shall post mine when I get them. In Acmilan's thread, he mentioned he was similarily confused with english, whether it was out of 100 or 105.

I must have made a lot of stupid errors in Maths Extension 1 for my exam >_> (this is why I'm going to re-do it)

Thanks for posting that! ^_^

Is this the only way to obtain our state ranks in our subjects, or are state ranks released in our mailed HSC results?

Only the Band 6 cutoff, not the lower cutoffs.

I got the full package, complete with a set of Explanatory Notes that I didn't ask for.

You don't get your state rank with your normal results, so this is the only way to get them.

After doing some more reading of the notes, it appears English is NOT marked out of 105. Paper 1 is marked out of 45, and then reweighted down to 40, which is then added to the non-reweighted Paper 2. So the final TWM is given out of 100.

Are you sure? Because that's kinda an odd way to approach things.

i cant believe that 61% in standard english places you in like the top 7/8% of people who did it. that means, at least 20,000 or so kids are getting <60%, of which probably most are failing.

imo, our state is dumb. haha.
