Victimless in that no-one is physically hurt through the act of watching the porn, but the child abuse is extended by the distribution of the porn. Plus, there's that whole supply and demand thing. More people watching child porn = more people making child porn.

I've never been raped but i know a person who has been.
Personally, I think, after seeing the effects that its had on one person,some girls would rather be dead then be defiled that way (opinion based on observation). It leaves an emotional scar on the victim and by watching/downloading a video of an 8 year old girl getting raped this kind of behaviour is being encouraged.
What happens if someone downloads the video to indulge in a fantasy, then after awhile of watching they decide they'd better like to act out their fantasy.
It is sick.

I'm not saying that veiwing this material is the cause of it originating, i'm just saying that by watching things like this it could be seen as encouragement to the people who film these things and could possibly affect the behaviour patterns of other people by desensitising them to what it is they are watching? I can't really say if it will or wont. I myself do not know why people do these things.

They're both equally horrific things, neither of which should be veiwed for entertainment. The world would be a much safer place without the sick people who commit these horrendous acts.

tbh, i don't think people suffer for their entire lives after being molested. i mean, it's human nature to just 'get over things'. sure, it'll remain in the back of your mind, but it doesn't necessarily have to affect you to the extent where you can't live a normal life.

They both make people suffer, no one can really say if one is worse then the other i guess. It just depends on the experiences and influences of different people as to what they think is the more disturbed act.

The law places certain restrictions on society so that we will not descend into anarchy ;D

Well contrary to what you might think it's not due to a religious/ancient stigma being placed on sex and so therefore crimes involving sex become worse some how. What makes the two different is that there are those who derive "pleasure" from the suffering of others in particular children being sexually assaulted, and so as that is inhumane by it's very nature. That one human would enjoy watching another suffer. It is a crime.

There is no denying that it is thoughtcrime. But considering I personally agree with a loss of liberty in order to form society, I agree with it fully. The sexualisation of youth in general is criminal and devoids children of their innocence. Which is why I oppose the Lady Gaga's and Paris Hilton's which children are embracing as role models.
