Considering the pros and cons of both. What would be safer to do in year 12, 10 units ir 12 units?

12 units definetly unless u know you can go heaps good in the 10 units u pick
its always best to have a back up subject incase things take a turn for the worst

I'm doing 12.. In case I screw up, most likely in Maths so they won't count those units.. . But with two extensions its a lot of work. ..

You need to do 12 or more units in Year 11.

I would recommend dropping to 10 units in Year 12. But only drop the subjects that you are certain not to do well in. Usually the best way to determine this is to try 12 units until Term 1 of Year 12 and then choose accordingly.

I did 10 units and still passed :)

If I were to do it again, I'd go in with 14 and cut them as I went.
You never know, you might like the preliminary course of the subject but you could absolutely hate the HSC course (a la economics).

12 preferably....13 max

doing 14 is not particularly a wise choice as with all the work and assignments from numerous subjects having a detrimental effect to the amount spent on other subjects, in comparison to someone undertaking less than 14 units. doing 14 units over two years would be good...

I'm doing 10 at the moment and am beginning to feel the pinch.. i'd do 12 on the safe side, especially if you notice that you generally stuff up in one subject

i don't believe in the 12 unit 'to be safe' trash

lots of ppl do 12 units in the false impression that one of their subjects will save another but end up stuffing two or more

u might as well do 10 units so u can spend more time/effort on the 10 rather than doing 12 with the nagging feeling that 2 units will not count (i.e. false sense of security)

+ if u stuff up english, then regardless of doing 10 or 12 units -> go figure

try to do 11 units if u can

It also depends what the actual subjects are, what subjects is the OP planning to do?

10 cause at the end only 10 units are counted. Doing 12 units will mean you spend longer hours at school and studying is that much harder.

If you want, do the 1st term of year 12 with 12 units. I'm sure by the end of that 1st term you'll know which subjects you want to keep.

10 units and going strong!
MAN UP.
hahaha just kidding, however the chances of you completely wrecking your whole atar is very little, so if you do screw up this year, you can only blame yourself for not working hard enough.
it does feel safe to be doing 12, but if your gunna muck around in ALL 12.... then thats gunna be even worse.
IMO.

I liked it in year 11.
Learning about market systems and such was great! My bread and butter.
Now it's all about inequality and environmental degradation and that crap. I mean, who enjoys learning about that?

Then again, we're covering issues and policies now so I'm guessing it'll get better from here...
