There have been so many people I know that have gone to public schools and have achieved GREAT results, and some of them aren't from selective schools either. Money going towards private education could be spent on so much more rather than a comfortable school lifestyle, like more to the public sector and communities.

i guess for parents, they find the idea of fees more appealing than the idea of donations. i guess it's the mentality that by paying hefty fees, the money goes right down into being invested directly to their child whilst giving donations in the public sector they just see it as every kid getting a lil bit of something which means their own child having no leverage, ah middle class nazi parents, how we will never understand you...

you public school kids will argue to the death that:
1. you have equal opportunities
2. that private schools are shit/spoiled/etc
3. you will come out the same after 6 years

however the truth is that
1. there are more opportunities in terms of everything at private schools
2. grounds, facilities are better, teachers may be more caring
3. you have a greater chance of making friends with rich children
4. after graduating you have the opportunity to employ a different mindset to hsc focused public school children depending on which school you went to and what your parents wanted you to get out of that specific type of education

this isn't about public schools vs private schools, this is just about the inflation in school fees and that's it, i'm pretty sure no parent would be happy they have to be pay more for fees no matter how rich you are, more is still more.

yeah maybe get some maturity
