yeah some ppl average 60's in all their subjects at school and get 99+UAI
That's more likely to be for something like Mathematics Extension 2 or high scaling subjects and/or they take into account the difficulty of the exam and marking.

I'm well and truly fkd. I got 0 in one business task because I'm a lazy ass and handed it in a day late...My rankings are crap, and I average about 70. I just put all 70s in to SAM and it told me that I will have a UAI of 51.6 or something. That doesn't even get you into courses at Wollongong!
That seems a bit low for those marks- but your marks might change once you do your exams (and sometimes they can dramatically change). I have friends who didn't even average that high and got in the 60s and 70s. What subjects do you do? I have a friend who averaged around the 70s and got 79.95 for her UAI.

What option are you doing? If you're doing Shipwrecks, then you might have more difficulties because of electrolytic cells and such.

If you have gotten below 50 in more than one assessment, give up now.

what i dont get is that you guys talk of 70 averages and some of you 90 averages
and yet you talk of chemistry and math like its challenging
dude im getting 60's
and coming top half of grade
(and yes though my school is retarded the top people do get 90's+) uai
chill
CSSA is apparently harder then hsc
and
incidentally 61% raw mark got you a 79 for your examination mark
meaning something like 62-63% gets you band five for chem
and from my understading thats extremely good
and looking at the difficulty of getting 61% in the exam
pssh easy
really man chill out guys
and how is chemistry or math hard at all?

do ranks really make a really big difference and how much do school ranks affect your mark?
