    Physics Exam Thoughts

Yeah, I agree with this. Say 2 electrons get excited from VB —> CB, so you have 2 free electrons in CB, 2 holes in VB, but only way those holes will move is if an electron moves into it, so you would have 2 electrons moving in VB also :/ For it only being Q5 tho, I think they would want...

Recent HSC graduate tutor vs Qualified teacher tutor

Tbh, if you have found a teacher who is on par with the knowledge/communication of a recent HSC graduate, you just haven't found the right teacher. What Pikachu says is true. Really, it is about what YOU feel works best. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to education, some things...

Recent HSC graduate tutor vs Qualified teacher tutor

Depends on the teacher and depends on the recent HSC graduate. Guaranteed there are some great recent HSC graduates, alongside great teachers. If the teachers have a proven track record, I would go with them. You don't want to pay someone just because THEY did well. You want to pay...

    EXAM question for PAST paper

It's in parallel with the 18 ohm resistor and therefore they share the same voltage.

    EXAM question for PAST paper

23 (c) Seems like you have the refractive indicies the wrong way around 25(a) Determine voltage drop across parallel part (2x18 = 36V), then determine voltage drop across 8 Ohm resistor, keeping in mind that the currents through the individual parallel branches will combine (5 x 8 = 40V)...

The unsolved question from my latest examination .. can YOU solve it?

Correct approach, but 700nm does not cause the PE Effect. So your max value is correct, but min value is not

Commute from Newcastle (Kotara) to UNSW

I personally think that travel time should not discourage you, if you get into the habit of using even half of the travel time effectively for study -- you have done 3 hours of study a day. But, you need to get into that habit from day one and stick to it.

    Should I do engineering?

Yup! It's more physicsy than Physics! Very difficult subject and too hard mathematically for most TAS teachers, from what I've seen at my schools. I'd love to teach it, but I would completely such at the drawing aspect of it, LoL.

    English not giving marks

Yes, it is true. You will never know what mark you were given when submitted to NESA. This is true for all subjects -- although it is pretty easy to figure out, given that you know the weightings of all your tasks -- assuming your school doesn't alter the marks when they submit.

Any good Physics coaching centre other than Matrix?

Sorry to disappoint with the Prelim classes being run on Saturday this time around! I am totally worth the travel, but I understand the predicament! I have heard mixed reviews about Zhang's -- apparently he is quite difficult to understand, has quite large classes (25+?), but he really knows...

100% Like I said, not all good students are good teachers and correspondingly, not all good teachers were good students! The smartest teacher I ever had in university was also by far the worst!
