Yeah he probably does, though I don't know if they've been printed yet. I'll find out for you and tell you within the next week or so.

i saw something quite funny and a lil shocking today...some left chick who's going for Prez posted her campaign posters on the thing outside Wallace, then in the arvo, 2 chicks stuck about 20 posters for Nick Wood over the top of all her posters.

ahh gotta love uni during times of elections!

The "If you don't vote for Quah, you're a racist" campaign refers to the fact that candidates will often say things like "Vote for me, because I'm a woman", and "If you don't vote for me, you hate gays". The text of the poster actually reads as follows:

IF YOU DON'T VOTE FOR QUAH
YOU'RE A RACIST!

Does this sound familiar to you?
We’ve had 77 SRC Presidents, and NOT ONE has been Chinese. Vote for Quah because he’s Chinese. If this isn’t enough to convince you to vote for Andrew Quah, then you’re a racist! RACIST!
(just kidding).

Our representatives LOVE talking about taking ACTION for Women and ACTION for Queer students. They tell us “Vote for me, because we need more women representatives”, and “Vote for me, because Queer people are oppressed on campus”.

But being a woman or being queer doesn’t magically make somebody a good representative. And, of course, nor does being of an ethnic minority. One has to wonder though how sensible some candidates really are, that even when we’re JOKING, we still sound more plausible than some candidates and their actual policies.

Andrew Quah and RESOLVE stand for sensible representation for ALL students, no matter their degree, faculty, campus, political orientation, gender, religion, or any other such distinction. In the end, we are all just “Students”, and representing STUDENTS is our priority.

On September 21 and 22, the decision rests in your hands. Make the Sensible Choice.

That always happens. During Union election week our posters would last at most 5 minutes...

So you decide to sink to their level. Good work.

I wonder how many trees they will go through this year. I will use less paper (in an attempt to be environmentally friendly, as well as for financial reasons) in my entire campaign, than one particular team used in a single day. My colleagues in the left And the right share my concerns, and tickets from both the left and the right are committed to environmentally friendly campaigning.

From next week, RESOLVE will be introducing recycle boxes, allowing students to discard their flyers in an environmentally safe manner, and allowing candidates from all tickets to retrieve these materials and use them again. I encourage everybody here to make use of these boxes, because even though one faction in particular is more than willing to use thousands upon thousands of posters and flyers, the rest of us remain aware of environmental issues.

My ticket will not be handing out any flyers, at least until election day.

If those Tom Watson chalkings dont eventually rub off im going to be so pissed off.

This might be misdirected but they dont look like chalk and I dont know what he's using. But the 'Subski got footy fever' and 'News UnLtd for Honi' chalking near the Coop thats still there after a whole year really really really piss me off.

It is chalk, just used in a non-traditional way.

I think they were wet-chalked, which means they won't come off; if they are, that's against university policy though Choice is not the only faction to have broken the rules in this way (as evidenced by the Subski / News UnLtd remains).

Also, Gordo, if you're concerned about the cost of parking you'll be pleased to know there is in fact a whole party called "Free Parking", they'd seem to be the obvious choice - I don't know if they have any other policies :).

Phanatical, I've been reading your policy about a Gender and Equal Opportunity Officer, to replace the Women's and Sexual Harassment Officers. While achieving equal rights for men and women is an admirable goal that all people would want to achieve, the way you cloak your policy in rhetoric about equal human rights for both genders is in my view a bit flawed.

Yes, men and women deserve equal rights but the international community recognises that women are disadvantaged more than men, so they require more attention. That is why Australia is a State Party to the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, which among other things requires member states "To take all appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against women by any person, organization or enterprise" (Art. 2.e). I have yet to see any real evidence that men require an anti-discrimination officer to look after their interests; perhaps you can provide some examples of where men's interests have been trampled on by women.

Without being racist, you have kind of shot yourself in the foot.

You will not get in, so stop campaigning now.

Australia is still quite a racist nation - white australia policy or not.

Go ahead and attack me, but we will see when the results come out.

Now to invest in the Free Parking team....
