the main reason you do it is that if you get called for an interview they may check up on it to see if you are being consistent. I.e. to see if your motivation for studying medicine you wrote on the application matches the motivation you mention in the interview. Otherwise, as far as i know...

No lol, olympiads are on a whole other playing field imo but it was certainly quite difficult from what i have seen of it so far and definitely above the level of your average 3u paper
