so, you've never made fun of or laughed at anyone? never teased anyone for any reason?
Between friends people always joke around with another - its part of life. But to sit there and just make fun of a religion then no.

What is the difference between whether it is a religion or not?

i didn't say religions, i said for any matter. there are plenty of beliefs beyond religion, or other ways of life. what seperates religion from other beliefs people may have strongly?

This is the last time i say this. I believe in Allah and that Muhamed is his messenger and others believe in Jesus, Buddha and so on. Some dont believe in religion... i believe they shouldnt be mocked or anything because of the fact that it uipsets people and so on. Read previous posts and you'll get the drift. I'm off now - because ive been on now for quite along time. Until next time...

Well to the artist the guy in the turban was just any guy.

EDIT: I should start a religion based on worship of the market, and then lynch any left wing columnists.

You have yet to explain why it is that a religious belief should be respected more than a non-religious belief.

believe what you want!
That's not true. You would ridicule me if I had certain beliefs and you are well aware of this, what makes religious beliefs any better? you have not explained so I must assume you have no explanation.

I believe that the best way to solve society's problems is near complete deregulation. My views are often mocked/parodied in the paper, but I'll either ignore it, or take the criticism on board and form a counter argument in my mind. I suggest you do the same.

seeing that denmark is a democratic and civilisized country, what they did just made them prove themselves otherwise. freedom of speech does not involve insults. there are many ways people can voice their thoughts without having to insult religious groups regardless what we think of them. i dont see anything wrong with drawing the prophet (even though it is strictly prohibited in islam) but making such a fool out of a man with a very powerful influence across the world is just an act of barbaracy. those drawings were disgusting and humiliating enough what with all the muslims are going through already.

Freedom of speech involves anything...full stop

For instance making fun of George Bush (or Jesus for that matter) may be acceptable even though he has powerful influence on millions of rednecks all around the world doesnt stop us from making fun of the bastard.

Stop trying to gain brownie points when people are artistically allowed to publish anything in a democratic country that is not ruled by religious law where civil liberties such as pornography, gay or adulterous sex and alcohol consumption are outlawed on the basis of books that were written a thousand years ago.

So you'd disagree with the following's right to exist?
